FILL
METHANE! CAMPAIGN
(01.01.2006 – 31.12.2006)
². GOALS
- to reduce the
harmful emissions automobile gases discharged into the atmosphere
through the mass scale use of methane fuel, which is a contribution
towards the solving of the environmental problem worldwide;
- to assist in
the preservation of the citizen health through the reduction of
automobile pollution, and to support the acquaintance with the
environment on the territory of Bulgaria;
- to reduce the
transport expenses of individuals, companies and the state under the
conditions of curtailed consumption in a currency board.
²². OBJECTIVES
- to cooperate in
the elucidation of the environmental effect and the economic benefit
among individuals, institutions, and commercial companies;
- to achieve the
effect of mass utilization of personal vehicles with methane fuel,
introduction of the methane fuel in the mass transit system,
introduction of the methane fuel in the carrier companies;
- to create
public and institutional awareness for non-admission of charging
excise duties on the methane, hence raising its cost;
- to overcome the
wrong impressions about the significant fire prevention safety risks
of methane-driven vehicles;
- to promote the
existing methane installations and methane stations;
- to promote the
new methane stations projects;
- to promote the
methane fuel automobile brands available on the Bulgarian market;
- to promote the
sale of second hand automobiles with methane engines;
- to promote the
efforts of state institutions for the use of alternative
environment-friendly fuels;
- to involve popular,
advertisement persons using methane fuel automobiles;
- to promote the
global experience in the mass launch of methane engine automobiles.
²²². SETTING UP
OF FILL METHANE! DEMONSTRATION CENTERS
1. Meetings and
discussions of Movement for Green Bulgaria with potential players:
Ministry of Environment and Waters, Ministry of Health Care,
Ministry of Transportation, Ministry of the Economy and Energy,
parliamentary commissions on health care, environment,
transportation, budget, and finances, the National Association of
Municipalities, commercial companies, methane and methane station
equipment distributors, large transportation companies – state,
municipal, and private.
2.
Institutionalization of Fill Methane! Demonstration Center in Sofia,
with coordination being provided by the Movement for Green Bulgaria.
3. Opening of
Fill Methane! Demonstration Centers in 50 municipalities throughout
Bulgaria under the organization of the Movement for Green Bulgaria.
²V. INITIATIVES
1. Organization
of seminars and conference to synchronize the efforts of the
legislative, central and local government authorities, as well as of
commercial companies for a unified policy for the introduction on
the mass consumption market of the methane fuel involving:
- ministries and
parliamentary commissions for state-institutional support of the
mass scale launch of methane fuel;
- municipal
administrations, mayors, local executive authorities, heads of Mass
Transit (departments);
- Heads of
logistics segments in leading companies having wide distribution
networks in the country;
- companies selling
methane engine automobiles;
- companies distributing
of methane fuel;
- companies importing
equipment for methane stations;
- companies owning
methane stations and companies, which intend to build and operate
methane stations.
2. Staging of media
campaigns for promoting the use of automobiles driven by methane
fuel:
- in national-size media
– TV stations, radio stations, print, electronic sites and agencies;
- in regional media of
50 municipalities - TV stations, radio stations, print, electronic
sites and agencies.
3. Carrying out of
presentations in the 50 biggest municipalities in the country
involving representatives of interested parties.
